What is Cakeland?
First created in 2006, Cakeland is a series of experiential artworks and fantasy installations that feature exquisitely crafted, interconnected mirror chambers and luxe rooms. The Cakeland project is the first example of what is now called called immersive art. We have outlasted all of the temporary pop-up immersive venues for good reason. Our mission is based around three principles:
- Quality of production
We use the highest quality materials, and execute our art with the most demanding level of detail and finishing.
- Depth of experience
We offer dramatic emotional connection, and individualized transcendental experience. The story being told is the viewer’s story. Providing a deep, meaningful fantasy experience is the foundation of your business.
- Intelligence of message
As it turns out, you can create an immersive destination that offers not just scenery, but story content that adds to the quality of the viewer’s life. We appeal to the selfie crowd, and can inspire the sophisticated art consumer.
CAKELAND LOS ANGELES
In July of 2020, Cakeland LA opened in Los Angeles’s historic Chinatown as our first for-profit venue. A very intimate 1300 square feet, we have hosted close to 20K attendees and have been featured in Atlas Obscura, KTLA, LA Times, Smithsonian Magazine among many others. We are the only year round immersive fine art venue in Los Angeles.
Proposed Project
Cakeland Gallery introduces The Cakeland House of Mirrors.
The Cakeland HOM is an exponentially more dramatic version of an old carnival standard- The Mirror Maze. What makes our version better?

The Program
Events
We partner with unique creative groups including immersive theater, high end food and cocktail events, visiting musical features, and disco parties that merge into, and include, the exhibition.
Simplicity of business model
Install is designed for maximum experiential impact, with minimal daily maintenance. Materials and construction methods allow for smooth installation and deinstal. The right number of employees are trained to manage tasks in harmony with a decisive central creative command.
Community
Each location has different community needs. We partner with charities that reflect the values and needs of the local communities.
Why us?
We have been doing it longer than anyone, know the game as well anyone, and our originality and vision will secure us as leaders into the future. We deliver transcendental experience, not trending gimmicks. Our attendees are loyal and grateful. We have fun doing what we do, and want you to have fun with us.
